The EUMEPLAT project examines the role of media platforms in fostering or dismantling European identity. The Project has lasted from March 2021 to March 2024. IKED has cpvered the Nordic region in various work packages as well as carried out analysis of externalities in platformisation, fake news and fragmentation vs. Europeanisation.

The project conducts a multidisciplinary analysis to shed light on whether new platforms (YouTube, Netflix, NewsFeed, and others) are making European culture more or less European. To answer such questions, the project has developed and applied a range of indicators related to diverse media aspects, spanning production, consumption, and representation.
